STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Clara Ankenbauer
Clara Ankenbauer, a freshman at Bowbells High School, was chosen as a student of the month. Clara was chosen based on her academic abilities. Clara is very active at BHS. She participates in volleyball, drama, speech, FBLA and pep club. “While Clara was absent, for an extended period due to extra-curriculars, she would email teachers if she didn’t understand something, or if the video was not posted in math. When asked to do something for class, she always gets it done,” commented Mr. Golde, her math teacher. Clara feels education is important because she holds herself to high standards in everything she does, and school is a part of that. Clara was asked what it means to be grateful. “Make a point to be thankful for things that you enjoy,” she replied. Her advice to others, “Look for and appreciate every little good thing.” When Clara has free time, she can be found reading or traveling. She is the daughter of Bryan and Joy Ankenbauer.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Corbin Schmit
Corbin Schmit, son of Tim Schmit and Lisa Haley, was also chosen from the elementary as a student of the month. Corbin was selected for many reasons. “Not only is Corbin incredibly grateful for everything he has, but he is also a very hard worker and kind toward everyone. His positive attitude and willingness to go out of his way to be a friend to everyone is admirable. He’s a great role model! Keep up the great work and being your amazing self!” reported his teacher, Miss Wangler. Corbin is in the fifth grade.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH: Isabella Foss
Isabella Foss, a first-grade student at Bowbells Elementary School, was chosen as this month’s student of the month. Izzy was chosen for always going out of her way to help. “If she has a friend or classmate that is feeling down, you can guarantee that she is there to cheer them up. If a teacher needs any kind of assistance, she is there to help. Izzy always goes above and beyond to help anyone in need. She is an amazing friend and student. We are so lucky to have in in our class,” commented Mrs. Hanson, her teacher. Izzy enjoys coming to school because “you need to learn.” She also enjoys the playground at school. Izzy was asked why it is important to be grateful. Her response was to be happy. Her advice to others on the importance of being grateful is, “Be grateful for friends and your life.” Izzy is the daughter of Shawnee and Bill Keesler.

All practices and activities are canceled for today, Tuesday, December 13. As of now, school will not dismiss early.
